Who is Redeemer Church?

We are:

  • followers of Christ

  • a family that rolls up our sleeves and gets to work

Redeemer Church actively participates in our community, - hosting meals through the Allentown Food Pantry and Daybreak Ministries, reaching out to and caring for the unhoused, building relationships with local elementary schools, providing spiritual care in times of loss, promoting the civil rights of the marginalized communities, and caring for seniors and homebound individuals, just to name a few.

Martin Luther, after whom the Lutheran branch of Christianity is named, believes faith is not about intellectually agreeing to a set of beliefs but about living in a trusting relationship with God in response to God’s grace. Faith is our confident hope that living in God’s promises sparks renewal to love and serve neighbors, as God in Christ loves us.

What we believe?

  • We believe God’s grace, God’s unfathomable love, is available to all people as a gift through Jesus Christ.

  • We believe God is the creator of the world; the giver of life; the source of wholeness, healing, and forgiveness; the champion of the poor and oppressed; the power of new life and resurrection. God creates, redeems, and continues to sustain the world.

  • We believe all people are created in God’s image and loved by God. We know about God thanks to the witness of the Scriptures and especially through Jesus Christ, who embodied God’s love for humanity.

  • We believe Jesus lived among us and demonstrated God’s love for all.

  • We believe Jesus was crucified. He died on the cross but was raised again in the body and in a new wholeness. As a result, through the gift of grace received by faith, all people can be made whole in Christ and set free to love and serve all people, particularly the vulnerable, just as God loves us.

  • Provides and manages the physical resources necessary for the other ministries of the congregation to serve in the mission and ministry of our Lord.

  • Seeks to promote Christian understanding and growth. Volunteer to help teach our family about the world of God created and how to find meaning and purpose through God’s will in our life.

  • Assist with worship planning, participation, and leadership using scripture and sacrament, prayer, and song to strengthen and sustain one another as we serve in God’s world.

  • Seeks to nurture and support the Redeemer family, both in our congregation and in our community as we celebrate the gift of God’s grace together. If you like hospitality and/or to cook, then this is the ministry for you.

  • Serves our Lord by responding to those in need globally, nationally, and in the local community by presenting opportunities for all to share their gifts and talents.
